Web Joist was created by several individuals. Primarily by Rag's Glaze, Bob Powell, Vern Sweet And Bruce Howard, with a Patent referred to as an "Improved Truss Joist" in 1976. The original Truss Joist was the only truly "Green"
History:
We manufacture
an improved Open Web pin connected truss and wooden I-joist primarily for
use in commercial buildings.
Web Joist
Corporation was established in 1976 in Ontario, California in a 2,500
square foot building. Within 2 years a larger facility was needed. Web
Joist Corporation relocated to Cucamonga, California in 1978 and continued
to operate there until 1990.
In 1981, Web Joist Northwest Corporation opened a
manufacturing facility on Bishop Road, Chehalis, Washington. From 1988 to
1990 a manufacturing facility was under construction on Borovec Road, in
Chehalis. This facility was opened and began producing I-joists in 1990.
In May 1994 the Open Web manufacturing facility moved to the Borovec Road location while the office
remained at the Bishop Road facility until March 1997 when it joined the
rest of the company on Borovec Road.
During the summer of 1997, Web Joist Northwest Corporation put together a sales team to market our products. Today we are experiencing new growth and seek to expand our product availability to new markets.
